Venus Adds Auto Aperture on 7.5mm F/2 MFT Lens

Today Venus Optics releases a first Automatic Aperture version of their extremely wide 7.5mm F/2 MFT lens, one of the widest for Micro Four-Thirds. The previous model, just like all Venus lenses until today, was a completely manual lens, relying on users to set focus and aperture manually.
The new Laowa 7.5mm F/2 MFT AE features an electronically-controller 5-blade aperture. While it remains a Manual Focus Only lens, it no longer has an aperture-ring and fewer blades which let Venus make the lens smaller and lighter than its manual version. These lenses are among the widest for Micro Four-Thirds and offer the brightest aperture among them.
This lens captures a 110° field-of-view and focuses down to 12cm, giving it a 0.11X maximum magnification. The front supports 46mm screw-on filters and a bayonet-mounted hood. It is truly a small lens, measuring 5.5cm long and 5cm wide. It weighs a mere 150g.
Venus expects to ship this new Laowa 7.5mm F/2 MFT AE lens shortly for a suggested price of $550 USD.
