Tokina Adds 56mm F/1.4 to Fujifilm X-Mount Series

Today Tokina quietly added a new ultra-bright normal lenses to their series of specialized mirrorless lenses. The new Tokina ATX-M 56mm F/1.4 X joins a pair of other prime lenses made exclusively for Fujifilm X-mount.
This ultra-bright normal lens is designed to reproduce a similar field-of-view as a classic 85mm lens which is highly sought-after for portraits due to its flattering perspective. The F/1.4 maximum aperture allows backgrounds to be completely blurred. Tokina included a 9-blade apertture inside this lens to produce ultra-smooth bokeh.
The Tokina ATX-M 56mm F/1.4 X follows a modern design and includes a subtle mechanical aperture-ring, just like the majority of lenses for Fujifilm X-mont. This ring is unfortunately declicked which makes it difficult to tell when an aperture switches stops. Hopefully it is sufficiently firm to avoid accidental rotation. An exceptionally wide focus-ring allows the users to drive the builtin STM focus-motor with great precision.
This is expected to be on sale next month, presumably for pre-orders since no firm availability was given.
