Fujifilm Finepix F770 EXR. These cameras have a large sensitivity range, reaching up to ISO 3200 at full-resolution. The P7700 also does ISO 6400 at 12 MP while the F770 EXR drops to 8 MP at that ISO. They are both advanced fixed-lens cameras with full manual controls except the Fuji lacks Manual Focus.

All images below are 100% crops from their respective camera taken at the highest image quality JPEG setting available. ISO, aperture and white-balance were set on camera. Other settings were left at their default values. These crops help determine which ISO settings is acceptable on these cameras. As noise increases, most cameras compensate with noise reduction which introduces softness. The point at which a print become unacceptably noisy is a matter of personal taste.

No doubt about it, the Nikon Coolpix P7700 has dramatically improved compared to its predecessor and now exceeded the Fuji shown here thanks to its larger sensor. The lead starts huge with a 3-stop advantage which closes down to about 1½ stops at high-ISO.
