Venus Optics Introduces 4 Unique Lenses

Venus Optics, makers of Laowa manual lenses just launched 4 completely unique lenses. Not shying away from producing unprecedented lenses and entering new markets, they have added new lenses that cover different lens mounts.

The Laowa 4mm F/2.8 Fisheye becomes one of the widest lenses for Micro Four-Thirds. Its 210° field-of-view makes it possible to capture complete spherical panoramas and virtual environments in just 2 shots, minimizing changes of movement and miss-alignment issues. This lens is extremely compact and weights a mere 135g.

While a 10-18mm focal-range may sound familiar, Venus Optics amazingly created such a wide lens that covers a Full-Frame imaging circle! This makes the new Laowa 10-18mm F/4.5-5.6 the widest rectilinear zoom lens ever made. This lens is available for Sony E-mount only. Its angle-of-view is too extreme for front filters, yet it supports 37mm gel filters at the back of the lens.

Continuous their tradition of extreme macro lenses, the Laowa 100mm F/2.8 2X Ultra-Macro APO lens delivers a 2X magnification at 100mm with Full-Frame coverage. This unique lens is available for Canon EF, Nikon F, Pentax K and Sony E mounts. While the Nikon and Pentax versions offer a standard 7 aperture-blades, like all others in this announcement, the Canon and Sony versions feature an impressive 13-blade aperture.

The Laowa 17mm F/4 Zero-D GFX is the first third-party lens for the Fuji G-mount used in their GFX Medium-Format mirrorless system. This extremely wide lens offers a 115° rectilinear field-of-view, making it equivalent to a 14mm lens on a Full-Frame camera, and the widest lens available for the platform. Its optical design comprised of 21 elements in 14 groups includes 2 aspherical elements and 3 extra-low dispersion ones to deliver zero distortion despite the ultra-wide field-of-view.
