Nikon Z6 Full-Frame Mirrorless Review Published

The Nikon Z6 is one of two Full-Frame Mirrorless Digital Cameras launched to inaugurate the Z-mount platform. It and its twin the Z7 feature a new electronic lens mount with wide throat diameter and short flange distance to allow bright optics with unprecedented sharpness across the frame. Both models include the first in-body image-stabilization on Nikon interchangeable lens cameras. This 5-axis stabilization system is effective to 5 stops compared to hand-holding. These relatively compact full-frame cameras are packed with features comparable to Nikon's professional DSLRs.

The Z6 features a 24 megapixels BSI-CMOS sensor with standard ISO 100-51200 sensitivity range, which is expandable to ISO 50-204800. It can continuously shoot full-resolution images at 12 FPS for up to 42 JPEG images or 24 RAW files. The more expensive Z7 offers higher resolution with lower sensitivity and slower burst rate which gives a fair compromise of lower-noise for the Z6 versus more details for the Z7.
