Budget Travel Zooms From Fuji

The travel zoom category consists of small cameras with relatively big zooms. Fuji just added a new budgets series of travel zooms to its line up. This one uses standard 14 megapixels CCD sensors rather than EXR sensors of the premium travel-zooms such as the excellent F300 EXR reviewed here two months ago.

The T-series starts with two models, the Finepix T200 and T300. Both a just a tad larger than an ultra-compact at 28mm thick. Each sports a 10X wide-angle optical zoom lens equivalent to 28-280mm. These are strictly point-and-shoot models with an ISO reaching 1600 at full-resolution and shutter-speeds between 1/2000s and 8s. They can shoot HD video at 720p and use the zoom while filming. They run on the same proprietary Lithium-Ion battery and use standard SDHC memory cards.

The only differences between these two models are the size of the LCD and a colored ring around the lens. The T300's one measures 3" diagonally, while the T200's measures 2.7". Both displays have 230K pixels and show 96% coverage.
