Nikon Z50 Samples

Here the Nikon Z50 is compared to the Fujifilm X-T30
Fujifilm X-T30 which is one of its few direct competitors. Both these Mirrorless Digital Cameras features state-of-the-art BSI-CMOS sensors with built-in Phase-Detection. While these sensors are APS-C with a 1.5X crop-factor, pixels of the Z50 are larger because it has 20 MP, compared to 26 in the X-T30. This gives the Z50 two extra stops of sensitivity. Despite this difference in resolution, these cameras are remarkably similar in terms of features. Neither are stabilized nor weatherproof yet they both offer dual control-dials and a built-in mid-size EVF with Eye-Start Sensor.

All images below are 100% unmodified crops from their respective cameras. Both ISO and custom white-balance were fixed in-camera and the aperture was set be optimal for each lens. As usual, both these cameras were calibrated to give the highest quality and most realistic results possible.

These crops help determine which ISO settings can be acceptably used on these cameras. As image noise increases, most cameras compensate with noise reduction which introduces softness. The point at which a print become unacceptably noisy is a matter of personal taste.
