Nikon Coolpix S1100pj Samples

Here we compare the Nikon Coolpix S1100pj with the Fujifilm Finepix F200 EXR
Fujifilm Finepix F200 EXR. Images below are all 100% crops from their respective cameras. ISO was set on each the camera. All other settings were left on automatic. All images were taken at the highest resolution possible for the set ISO sensitivity. One can easily notice below that the older F200 holds an image-quality lead between 2 or 3 stops of over the S1100pj.

A peculiar occurrence for the Nikon is that its ISO 200 shot always looks softer than noisier ISO 400 shots. This can also be seen in the indoor crops page and is not simply a coincidence. Each such shot is taken 9 times as per our methodology and results were always nearly identical. The only possible explanation is a switch in noise-reduction processing by the camera due to the change in shutter-speed.
