Fujifilm X-T5 Summary
Fujifilm X-T5 Assessment
The Fujifilm X-T5 is virtually the best of the X-H2 and X-T4. Image quality exceeds both by combining a 40 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor with improved processing.
Image quality from the new 40 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor is really impressive at low ISO, allowing prints up to 30" x 20" from an APS-C camera. It shows very low noise and renders the finest details all the way to ISO 800. Dynamic-Range, color and WB are also excellent.
Considering a maximum throughput of 40 MP images at 15 FPS, the speed of this camera is impressive. It is only 25% slower than the X-T4, despite having 50% more pixels. The X-T5 offers the fastest shutter-speed of any digital camera. Autofocus is also immediate and highly accurate with reliable tracking capabilities. Shutter lag is instant for both images and video. Some functions are slower than average but the X-T5 is fast when it counts the most.
This hybrid mirrorless packs a state-of-the-art 5-axis image-stabilization system that provides 7-stops of efficiency. The X-T5 is a feature rich camera with an outstanding level of customization. Its controls are well laid out but unfortunately too soft, making them prone to accidental changes.
Video quality is really high. Its Ultra HD and Cinema 4K output rivals the best video cameras. Video features of the X-T5 are highly sophisticated and provide sufficient controls to produce professional output. Its dual SDXC UHS-II memory slots make it possible to record video two both cards at once.
This flagship mirrorless deserves high praise for its all-around performance and ergonomics. The new extra-large 0.8X magnification OLED EVF improves even upon the great user-experience of the X-T4.
